Three chic outfits to replicate this autumn/winter

Autumn and winter are my favourite seasons to dress for. I love big coats, leather boots, buttery soft scarves, cashmere, lambswool, thick socks, oversized jumpers... it's all so deliciously cosy. I feel my most confident this time of year when it comes to dressing. Nothing makes me feel quite as powerful as an ankle-length coat and a pair of tailored trousers.

Alongside art and interior design, fashion is a huge interest of mine. When I go shopping, I try and buy pieces that contain a high percentage of cotton, linen, wool, or cashmere. I don't have a huge budget to splash on the most luxurious Mongolian cashmere knitwear or boots made of the finest Italian calf leather, but I try my best.

Below I've put together three recreations of some autumn/winter outfits I came across on Instagram that I think exude pure style and elegance. The products I've chosen are predominantly from the high street and are made up of wool blends, 100% wool, cotton, real leather, and suede. Good materials don't have to cost the earth!

If buying new is not your thing, Vinted and eBay are perfect for finding high quality second-hand pieces for very little money. Vinted is my favourite of the two, I have found some absolute gems on there in the past. I especially love being able to filter by material as it makes sifting through the deluge of polyester and acrylic a dream.

I'm really feeling this faded blue denim/burgundy boot combination. Would make a great transitional outfit from autumn into winter, and even winter into spring. Add some brown thermal tights and a cashmere scarf when it gets particularly chilly.

I love the brown flats and matching tights, it really elevates this simple look. If it's cold or wet, pairing this jumper and skirt combo with a pair of chunky lace-up boots would look just as stylish.

There's something so effortlessly chic about heeled boots and a pair of jeans. The patterned coat and pop of burgundy keeps this monochromatic outfit from looking too samey. Add a pair of black leather gloves for the ultimate finishing touch.
