Dublin photo dump

I almost forgot to post about my trip to Dublin in July!

It was the first time I'd been on a plane in 19 years(!), and even though the journey was barely even an hour, it felt monumental. I was so happy to take my brand new passport on its first overseas journey.

I went with my best friend who has been to Dublin a couple of times before. She was convinced I would love it, and she was so right.

The day we arrived we spent most of our time wandering around and getting our bearings. We spent some time exploring Temple Bar and many of the main shopping streets. We had dinner at Toni then went back to the hostel for an early night.

The next day we had tickets for the Book of Kells Experience which was the one thing we were both adamant about doing. It was a spellbinding experience inside the Long Room library. Genuinely breathtaking. Seeing the actual Book of Kells (photos unfortunately prohibited), standing in one of the most beautiful libraries on earth, and exploring the grounds of Trinity College is something I'll never forget.

After, we spent the rest of the day exploring Dublin's copious vintage and book shops. I had to pick up some Irish literature from the stunning Hodges Figgis, of course. We ended up having dinner at the airport and soon enough we were on our way home.

Dublin is incredibly charming and I can't wait to go back. Already planning a return trip next year, hopefully for a few days longer.

The Temple Bar.

The Royal Irish Academy on Dawson Street. Beautiful Georgian building.

The Examination Hall at Trinity College.

The Campanile of Trinity College.

George Salmon, 32nd Provost of the university.

Gaia by Luke Jerram inside the Long Room.

If you do anything in Dublin, do the Book of Kells Experience.

Dublin's vintage shops are very fun.

This gave me a good chuckle.

The journey home.
