Mood board #4 – Halcyon

This is Halcyon - a soothing and airy living space with limestone flooring, natural wood tones, subtle brass accents, and a stand-out sofa in the most delicious shade of apricot.

(If a product isn't linked it's because it was probably a PNG from Google Images.)

I really wanted to feature some wainscoting in this mood board (not that you can see a great deal of it) so I started with that and worked my way outwards.

I chose a pretty, soft patterned wallpaper by Lucie Annabel to base my colour scheme on - I picked out the blues of course but I wanted to emphasise the small pop of red/peach/coral too, and I happened upon the most perfect plush, velvety sofa by OKA (the colour aptly named Apricot) to get the ball rolling.

I wanted the backdrop to be as neutral as possible, so I opted for antique, rustic oak wood tones (that lean neither warm or cool) and natural limestone for the floor and hearth. Keeping it simple meant I could mix and match colours and patterns without the background being too distracting. I wanted the wallpaper and furniture to do the talking.

My favourite things in this mood board are the fire surround, the lampshade, and the wooden curtain rails. It's the little things that really complete a space.

I've hit a real creative block these past few months, and I'm desperate to get back into writing and creating again. I thought I'd spend my day off putting together a mood board and listening to music, two things I haven't done in far too long.

Prices and availability correct as of 14/09/26.
